How we handle your information.

The short version

ROC Affordable Housing Corporation ("RAHC," "we," "us") is a small nonprofit. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. We collect information only when you choose to share it with us through a form on this site, and we use it only to respond to you and to do our housing work. That's the whole idea.

RAHC is a separately incorporated 501(c)(3) and the housing arm of The Rural Outreach Center. This policy covers this website. The Rural Outreach Center runs its own websites and programs under its own privacy policy.

What we collect

We collect the information you type into our forms. Depending on the form, that may include your:

• Name and email address
• Phone number, town, or organization (when you provide them)
• The message, feedback, or answers you write
• For the Lodge listening form: your stated preference about whether we may quote you publicly

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not run advertising or third-party tracking on this site. When you share a phone number, we use it only to respond to you directly — we do not send automated or marketing text messages.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers. The only thing we store in your browser is a small preference that remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.

We also serve our fonts from our own server rather than loading them from an outside font service. Reading a page on this site does not hand your IP address to a third party.

How we use what you send

• To respond to you — answering questions, following up on ways to get involved, and continuing conversations you start.
• To do the work — for example, recording what neighbors tell us during the Masonic Lodge listening campaign so it can inform what the building becomes.
• To keep an accurate record — submissions are saved so we don't lose what you took the time to share.

Quoting Lodge feedback

When you submit feedback about the Masonic Lodge, we ask whether we may quote you. We honor that choice. If you ask us not to use your name, anything we publish from your response is kept anonymous. If you ask us not to quote you at all, we won't. You can change your mind any time by emailing us.

Where your information lives

To run this site and respond to you, we rely on a few trusted service providers that process information on our behalf:

• Vercel — hosts this website.
• Google (Google Sheets) — where form submissions are stored as our working record.
• Resend — delivers the email notifications and confirmations tied to our forms.

These providers handle the data only to deliver their service to us. We do not authorize them to use it for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep submissions for as long as they are useful to the work — for example, listening-campaign feedback is retained while that project is active and while the record remains relevant to decisions about it. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the information you've shared, or ask us to stop contacting you. Just email vramaiah@theroc.co and we'll take care of it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the appropriate supervisory authority — in New York, the Office of the Attorney General. If you subscribed to our newsletter, every email includes a way to unsubscribe.

Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
